Research Interest

The projects I am developing try to uncover our ability to make sense of others’ actions. In a first axis, I try to understand how observers use different pieces of information (e.g., static and dynamic components of movements, visual context, personal knowledge about the actor or the action) to recognise actions performed by others. In a second axis, I try to understand how action recognition can inform higher social abilities such as mental state attribution.

These questions are considered from both a cognitive and a neuroscientific perspective, with a strong accent on timing issues, embracing the dynamic nature of action processing. I use various behavioural (e.g., priming, eyetracking) and neurophysiological (e.g., EEG, TMS) methodologies.
